Welcome to tloc.xyz (“we,” “us,” or “our”). We value your privacy and commit to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share your data, and your rights regarding that information.
By using tloc.xyz, you agree to the collection, use, and disclosure of your information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, please do not use our service.
For the purposes of applicable data protection laws (including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) and the California Consumer Privacy Act/California Privacy Rights Act (“CCPA/CPRA”)):
We do not publicly list our physical address or phone number here. Should we be legally required to disclose additional information, we will do so upon legitimate request.
We collect and store location data that users voluntarily share through unique links. When you generate a location marker, you must enter an alias, but you are free to use any name or label you wish. We do not require this to be your real name or any personally identifying information.
We retain location data only as long as necessary to provide our service (for example, until a link is no longer active). After that, the data is automatically deleted from our active systems.
Our servers may automatically collect certain usage data (e.g., IP address, browser type, date/time stamps) when you access the service. We use this data for legitimate interests such as security, fraud prevention, and service maintenance. We do not link this data with your alias or location data in a way that personally identifies you.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information (e.g., health data, financial data).
We enable users to share location data via unique links. Location data is only accessible to individuals who have the unique link you generated.
If we introduce paid features, we may collect limited transactional information (e.g., to process payments). We will not share your location data with any payment processors.
We may analyze anonymized or aggregated data (e.g., usage metrics) to help improve our service. Log data is used for fraud detection, error troubleshooting, and ensuring the service runs securely.
We may disclose information if required to do so by law or if we believe it is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of our service, users, or others.
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the UK (where GDPR applies), we process your personal data under valid legal bases:
If you are a California resident, you may have certain rights:
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@tloc.xyz. We may ask for additional information to verify your identity before completing your request.
Note: We currently operate a small, free service that may not meet certain statutory thresholds under the CCPA/CPRA. Nonetheless, we provide this notice in the interest of transparency.
Your information may be processed or stored on servers located outside your home country. If you reside in the EEA/UK, we rely on standard contractual clauses (SCCs) or other valid mechanisms to ensure adequate data protection in the course of international data transfers.
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information:
No electronic transmission or storage system is entirely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We do not currently use cookies or similar tracking technologies. If that changes, we will update this policy and comply with any required consent mechanisms.
Certain libraries or mapping APIs may use cookies or equivalent methods. We monitor our third-party integrations and will inform users if relevant tracking is implemented.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). Our service allows sharing of location data, but does not require the submission of any directly identifying personal data. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact privacy@tloc.xyz so we can remove it.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
